| " The Boy And His Dog
oil on canvas, 18"x24"
I love painting from life, where the subject sits still and the artist has the time to analyze and capture the depth of emotion, the
wordless
expressions of personality...or however all the mumbo-jumbo is worded in the articles...
Let me tell you: an eleven-year old boy, fresh home from six hours of school is in no mood for sittin' still, and neither is his dog. Thank God for video! The scene in the yard was kid-crazy, as it should be. The boy, the ball and the dog all went at it non-stop until, for one brief breath, everyone came to a halt on the ground. Five seconds was all I had, but it was all I needed. |

| Fine Art
Daniel Brooks Grove loved to draw as a child, but when his seventh grade art teacher passed some tubes of oil colors and a few brushes around her classroom, a young artist was born (Thank you, Miss Hunter!).
From that day on, Dan pursued many venues in the realm of art, from film-making to book illustration. As time went on, he turned his attention to the fine arts, combining his God-given skills and passion with a great appreciation for the Old Masters. Working from life or photographs, Daniel has painted young and old alike, including the family pets.
Dan's works are available for sale, or he can be commissioned for your own special projects. |
